Is there any difference in searching for the Yeti or tracking Bigfoot? If you consider how the media and pop culture portray the two there is.
When you are talking about Bigfoot most people immediately have ideas of tabloid stories come to mind. Then there is the misinformed newspaper article saying it is all a hoax. On television all Bigfoot researchers wear camouflage and tell big stories.
Now take the Yeti. People think of a worldly expedition to exotic lands such as Nepal, India and China. Climbing Mt. Everest and exploring the Himalayan Mountains. Tabloid photos are replaced with historic artifacts of Yeti paintings and sculpture. The resaeachers drop the camo gear for a more Indiana Jones look. Sounds intriguing doesn't it?
Well Disney World and the people at Disney's Animal Kingdom think so.
Now open for your enjoyment is the new adventure ride named, "Expedition Everest." In what looks to be a great roller coaster ride that starts from a Himalayan village and heads up to an Everest base camp. Only the Yeti, or Abominable Snowman, is not big on visitors to his sacred mountain.
As usual Disney has covered every detail from start to finish and I am sure will inspire many new young minds to ask if the legend of the Yeti is all just myth or reality?
