Sasquatch Music Festival
The last Sasquatch Music Festival fell on the same weekend as the Sasquatch Research Conference. The perfect chance for a Bigfoot Surplus trip.
Headlining the Sasquatch Music Festival were the Pixies and they put on a great show. Just as heavy and energetic as I image they were years ago. The rest of the line up was no short list. Modest Mouse, Kanye West, Wilco, The Arcade Fire, Jem, U.S.E. and others rocked the main stage. While bands like, The Dears, Aqueduct, and Crystal Skulls - kept the side stages busy between sets.
Not being from Washington, this was the first opportunity to catch a show at the Gorge Amphitheatre. Wow, what a venue. Having been to other outdoor concerts, the Gorge, ranked high for sound. Add the view behind the stage you can't beat it.
Looking beyond the main stage you are presented with a postcard view of the Columbia River Gorge. Then just as you start to take that view for granted, the sun starts to go down and everything changes.
Not to get caught up in the scenery, the crowd of the Sasquatch Music Festival itself is entertainment. Maybe it's the fact that most of the concert goers walked in together from the camp sites that makes it feel like one big family. Nothing but a positive vibe surrounded the hillside. Amazing if you think of how many people were there under the blazing sun with long water lines.
Bigfoot Surplus recommends that if you have the chance to make it out to the Sasquatch Music Festival. We will be there at the next one!
